"Soap Box" classes
Usually have wheel type
and diameter restrictions.
This class should specify
no pneumatic tyres and wheel diameter should be restricted to a commonly
available size.
This has the effect of keeping
speeds down.
Younger entrants could be
encouraged, but not forced, to race in this class.
Open classes
No wheel restrictions.
Few, or no, construction
specifications.
Organisers will usually
specify brakes unless the hill does not warrant them.
